Yup, it's my Blogversary!

Yup, one year ago today I started blogging. Congratulations Abi! Though I'm loving reading the other "on this day today" comments. Since Abi lives so close to me, I'll have another contest. Find me the best "on this day today" event, and you'll get a prize like Abi! And no, Abi, you can't win again. :)

A few weeks ago, I told you about some sweater stashing that had been done. See, a few weeks ago I had been a bit down in the dumps with all this divorce crap. So, finding yarn on sale became a bit of a hobby for me. :)

There's a few sweaters in blogland that I'm just DYING to make. First is the Lucy in the Sky Cardigan by Laura at Cosmicpluto.

First, I purchased this yarn at Elann:

But it's a bit fuzzy in real life, and I wouldn't want to obscure the diamond detail on the sweater with the fuzziness. So, in the stash it goes! I couldn't get a shot of how gorgeous the purple is. Me likey!

I also had purchased this:

I've been wanting to knit Rogue for a long time. So I thought that this Jaeger yarn would be gorgeous in all those cables. But then I remembered about this yarn:

Chilling in the stash all unused. So, the Mission Falls will become Rogue, and the Jaeger will become Lucy!

It is taking every bone in my body not to cast on!!!!!! I've finished a sleeve for my Mom's sweater, and am about to take on one of the fronts of Ivy. I cannot start another sweater until I finish one of those.

Can I?

Maybe look to see what Weaving Works has for undyed yarn and then dye it myself? Other shawl patterns welcome! Please help me! :) I want to send my Mom away with handknits!

Fetching and New Sweaters

Finally, my other FO! A pair of Fetching gloves

Knitted in Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran. First glove was knitted during my Mom's garage sale, and the second was completed the next day! Such a QUICK project!

I tried to get a good picture of both glove with the kitties, but Scout wasn't cooperating! She's totally bailing on me in this picture! :)

But at least you can see both gloves in this picture.

Why is it, when I have an emotional crisis, I feel like I NEED to buy lots of yarn?! All of it has been on sale at least. :)

The first yarn to arrive was Elann's Quechua. I'm knitting Ivy from the fall issue of Knitty.

I'm about 12 inches up the back of the sweater. I'm finding the Quechua hard to work with. The yarn has no give, and I find my hands getting sore after 10-20 minutes. I can't wait to have a finished sweater though!

Next up is this sweater:

It's destined to be my Mom's Christmas present. I'm having gauge issues! I'm ending up having to knit the 46" bust size for to end up with a 34.5 inch sweater!

I sent an email to my Mom with the link to Knit Picks and several yarns for her to choose from. She ended up picking the Knit Picks Shine Worsted in Coral for her sweater.

I'm making progress, so far so good. I'm using my NEW Knit Picks Options needles! Here's to hoping that I have enough yarn... :)

I also have yarn arriving for TWO more sweaters... :) Details to come!

My parent's house is going on the market tomorrow. This divorce thing is so real now. They have the house all staged... It's empty and a shell of what is once was. I WISH I could buy the house from my parents, but I cannot afford their asking price.

I also have a tentative meeting time with my Dad. I haven't seen him since July. He hadn't called me since July. He finally called last week. I'm anticipating angry words from me during the meeting. I hope he's ready for my fury. Jerk. (I'd love to use some other adult words... :) )

Hourglass

The Hourglass, she is done!

Hourglass Sweater, knit in Cascade 220, size 7 needles.

Modifications: Picot edges on neckline, sleeve cuffs, and hem.

Please ignore my Old Navy PJ pants! :)

All that's left is a blocking bath. I already have plans for another Hourglass, in Noro Cash Iroha that I got on closeout from WEBS!

You know you're sick when...

You don't even want to knit. Ugh. Feeling crappy here.

Am thisclose to having a finished sweater. Just the waist hem to sew up.

Hopefully I'll have TWO FO to show you tomorrow.
