Fresh off the Spinning Wheel

Fresh off of the spinning wheel are a few nifties. :) Here's some BFL dyed by Dicentra Designs. I've lost the tag with the colorway name. When I find it, I'll edit this blog post to add it. This turned out to be about 120 yards. I think I'll make a hat out of it.

Finished the American Pie yarn. The top skein is 278 yards, the bottom skein is 88 yards. Like I said before, this is destined for Abi, as her birthday present.

Next on the wheel? Crown Mountain Farms Twist and Shout.

Reason #463 Why I Love The Internets!

So, I was totally in a funk about the Glee situation until I started listening to Episode #14 of Stash and Burn. I GOT A SHOUT OUT FROM JENNY! It's about 5 minutes and 20 seconds into the podcast!!

Yay for the internets!!!

Crapity, CRAP CRAP!!!

I don't think I have enough yarn to finish Glee! I only have 3 skeins left of the Blue Sky Alpaca. With 7 inches to go BEFORE starting the ribbing, I have a feeling that I won't be able to finish. :(

Anyone have any Blue Sky Alpaca 100% Alpaca, color 24, dye lot 9538? I got this from the Knit Happens online sale. Please? :-/

I Have Climbed My Own Mountain and Survived!

What you have seen here, is my last pound of washed merino fleece! I've even started spinning one of the carded batts.

There's been a lot of spinning around here lately. I've finished the American Pie Superwash Merino. I'm waiting for the yarn to finish drying. This yarn is destined to go to Abi, for her birthday.

I also went to my LYS to find some yarn for my Sockapalooza. Since he/she is international, I tried to see if I could find a yarn that was not widely available overseas. It's Fleece Artist Merino Sock yarn.

While I was there, I also fell off the yarn wagon, when I saw some Yarn Pirate.

Reason # 462 Why I Love the Internets

You know when you've become a slack blogger, when your MOTHER tells you on Mother's Day to update your blog more often. :)

I figure I should tell you why I love the internets. :) A few weeks ago, I was in Las Vegas. One of the days we were there, a car was rented for the trip to see the Hoover Dam. Since seeing the Dam takes about 3-4 hours, we had some time to kill before having to return the car. So, I visited a yarn store, where I fell in love with some yarn.

This yarn:

It's Cestari 2-ply worsted weight wool, in a blackberry tweed. This picture doesn't do it justice. Anyhoo, the yarn store I went to only had 5 skeins available. Even though I knew I couldn't make a sweater with 1000 yards of the wool, I decided to purchase the yarn. As soon as we got back to the hotel, I got on the internets, found Cestari's website, and sent an email to customer service, asking if they had any more of the yarn in stock. Sure enough, they did! So, now I have 2000 yards of the blackberry tweed! I'm thinking of making this into a Rogue. :)

I also purchased from Dani at Sunshine Yarns:

Dark Forest:

and Field of Flowers:

Knitting on Glee continues. I've joined for working in the round, and am about 4-5 inches in.

I've also started on some socks for my Mom:

Socks that Rock Lightweight in the Lemongrass colorway. Do I need to tell you what pattern this is? :)

My latest spinning project, sock yarn for Abi, in Crown Mountain Farm's American Pie. Singles on the Matchless:

Singles on the Lazy Kate waiting to be plyed.

Glee Progress

Glee, originally uploaded by eksrn2002.

Woo HOOO!! I've split the sleeves off, and am now knitting up to the point where I join for circular knitting. Yay! Progress!

Not sure if you've been able to check this out, but I've become a beta member of this cool new site,

I beg you to go out and check this site out! Sign up to be member. Casey and Jess are making the site invite only at this time, to make sure we don't break anything. In mid-May it should be open to the public. It's got all sorts of great tools. Casey and Jess are going to MD S&W this weekend, so you may have to wait until next week for your invite.
