Great Weekend!

So after my BIG NEWS on Friday, I ended up having a pretty good weekend. I spent most of it with my good friend Bernie. Throw in a little Torchlight Parade action, and a nice purchase to celebrate my FUCK CANCER weekend.

I used it to show you a bit of sleeve action detail on Central Park Hoodie:

A little Ari (Bernie's cat) action

A little Einstein detail:

I've applied to be an RN3 (Assistant Nurse Manager) of the MICU. I told myself that if I got the job, I'd get myself a DSLR. But since I got the bad news on Friday, I got it then. So, the photography will hopefully improve on this blog. :)

I'd also like to take this opportunity to THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for the support you've given me this past weekend. Since Blogger doesn't send me your email addresses in comments, I can't respond to each and everyone of you personally. But know that it means so much to me, all those who read, lurk, comment. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Fuck Cancer

First, apologies to those who are offended by my use of the F-bomb.

But, hey, guess what!? I have skin cancer! The thing that was on my forehead that everyone thought was nothing big? Yep, skin cancer. Glad I got it checked out. It's Basal Cell Carcinoma. If you're gonna get cancer, this seems to be the type to get.

Just waiting for the surgeon's office to call so I can schedule my procedure for removal. Good times. It's ok, I have a plan for my celebration of cancer this weekend, just you wait. :)

Sock Pal Socks Finished

I can certainly knit socks quickly when I put my mind to it! I left Seattle last Wednesday with just a cuff of tthese Roza Socks finished.

It was a bit of the sweat at the end, as here's all the yarn I had left...

These are for my Sockapalooooza 4 Pal. Hope she likes them!

And the "good" news just doesn't stop

Got the results of my biopsy today. I figured it would be not good news when I found a voice mail on my cell from my Dr. reminding me of my appointment today--that's never happened before. It wasn't even the receptionist--it was the DOCTOR!

Atypical cells were found--PRE-melanoma. It's out thank goodness, but I pointed another mole out that I was concerned about. We're talking about biopsying that one too. I've called the dermatologist that my Mom went to and liked. I'm going to go to a specialist for the rest of any treatment I may need. I've heard of people getting more tissue taken out around the mole site--we'll see if that's what I'll get to have. I also have a lesion on my forehead that I think needs to be checked out. I'm concerned it's squamous cell carcinoma.

Good news today is that I finished Rusted Root! I even wore it to my Dr. appointment for luck. Too bad it only partly worked.
