Christmas Knits

Hey there! I've got a Christmas Knit in progress for you to see! Some socks from my Mom!

Knit in Shibui sock yarn, in two colors. :)

So, I've found out that some nasty website is copying my posts without my permission...

SO.... If you're reading this at any other place other than OR, then you're reading a thief's website. Come over to the REAL website and leave that thief's! This is MY intellectual property, and you suck.

Tangled Yoke is Finished!

Time for some FO shots!

Knit in Rowan Felted Tweed, on US5s.

Yummy cable detail--if you're going to do this sweater, get a ton of stitch markers to keep that cable in check! I had to rip out the entire cable once. (Painful due to 300+ stitches on the needles!)

Einstein is thrilled, can't you see? :)

Two FOs in ONE night!

I have finished two UFOs in one night!

First off is this:

Knitted out of Zen String Serendipity fingering weight on US 0s. I started these back in July!

Second is this:

Blocking the TYC!

My Tangled Yoke Cardigan!

It's blocking now--I'm hoping it'll be dry in time for Sunday, when Bernie and I are getting our engagement photos done! I'll share the pictures of the sweater at some point this weekend, if I don't wear it during the engagement photo shoot. :)

Yay, fiber!

Finished spinning the first Loop Spontaneous Spinning Batts. I ended up plying it with a silver thread.

Next up on the wheel was this:

My Hello Yarn Fiber Club in Hive.

Swatching for new sweaters, this is Zenith DiVe.

And more fiber pursuits, this is CMF in Big Yellow Taxi.

Dudes, I am freaking livid right now, and I need a place to vent.

Backstory--About a month or so ago, I found a lump in my breast. Yup, a lump. I went to the Dr. last week, and got them to check it out. Unfortunately my primary physician called in sick that day so I saw a different doctor. She thought that a breast ultrasound was needed and would fax the paperwork that day (7/3). Because of the holiday, I ended up calling on Tuesday to try to make an appointment to schedule the ultrasound.

It's Thursday. A WEEK later, and I have yet to schedule my ultrasound, even though I've called Tuesday, Wednesday and now Thursday to get the paperwork to the radiology department.

I'm 29 with a fucking lump in my breast, and this is scary, even though I'm fairly confident this is just a cyst. But good gracious, can't anyone get this done?!?

If I have to call tomorrow, I'm going to throw in a few F bombs. :)

Ah, I'm feeling better already.

Do your monthly breast exam!!

Black Sheep Gathering

I spent the weekend in Eugene, OR this weekend. Bernie and I went to the Black Sheep Gathering! (My second time, his first time!)

I had a lot of fun. :)

I was inspired by the handspun yarn competition:

I think I'll enter in the competition next year. :)

I also made a few new friends:

I also got to watch the end of the fleece judging!

I'd love to be able to learn how to do this.

I was able to purchase two gorgeous fleeces. First is a Shetland fleece.

It's black, with sunbleached tips.

It's got a fair amount of VM in it, and needs a decent bit of cleaning.

Isn't it gorgeous?

Next is this black Corriedale fleece.

I'm thinking of sending this one out for processing, but we'll see. :)

All in all, a good weekend. And I think Bernie enjoyed himself too, as he is now making plans for us to camp next year! :)
